MALVERN MURAL PROJECT
We are excited to inform Borough residents about our community-funded mural project to be painted on the side of the Malvern Pizza building. This location offers the biggest, smoothest, and most visible canvas on King St. The full-color mural will depict Victorian era life in our small railroad town. The mural will complement the redevelopment and beautification projects in the Borough. It’s a charming, classy, and appealing way to honor our town’s history as Malvern undergoes some exciting changes. A mural painting is a distinguishing characteristic in a community. They often become landmarks and can attract visitors. It’s good for all of the businesses in town.
This project is being funded by our community.
Please consider helping us make Malvern even more beautiful through a tax deductible donation.
We need to raise $5,000 to have the mural painted in the Spring/Summer of 2013.
Follow our progress on facebook – Malvern Mural Project - as we announce the artist, release sketches, and discuss our timeline.

Isn't there a mural accross the street next the the antique store. Does anyone know what it's going to look like or who is painting the mural? Is it a local resident?

There is a very small mural along the back wall of the Art Traders building - of a whale I believe. This mural will be the entire side of the building. Check out our facebook page for more information. We'll be announcing the artist soon and then sharing sketches and such as we go. The Businesses & Professional Association, Borough Council, and the Historical Commission are supporting this project and we are all very excited. Hopefully this project sparks a few more.

I hope the mural features the Bishop's Platinum Works, the old Hires Root Beer Factory, Plastomatic, the Farm Supply, J Blackburn & Company Plumbing, Supplee's and Quann's Hardware stores, Fisher Feed and Grain, Baranzano's Junk Yard and Lou Thomas' bar -- original businesses that put Malvern on the map! "Ready for my close-up, Mr. DeMille." hee hee hee

Regina - thank you for your interest, passion, and historical knowledge of our town. I don't know that we can fit all of those wonderful places onto one wall, but the artist will represent Victorian Era Malvern well and is collecting photos and information from the Historical Commission as part of his/her research. I did send your comments along to the artist for consideration.
