2012 in 8 Minutes: Watch East Whiteland Firefighters in Action
A new video produced by a local firefighter recaps last year's emergency responses.
As he has done in previous years, firefighter Kevin Skymba released a video this week recapping East Whiteland Volunteer Fire Association's activity in 2012.
The eight-minute video is a compilation of various emergency responses and other scenes, set to music and radio transmissions. Malvern Patch gets a shout in the closing credits for contributing a few photos to the project.
Viewers of the video will likely come away with one question:
What happened at the 7-minute mark?!
According to Skymba, the fireball was the result of an electrical transformer blowing after a car struck a utility pole near Great Valley High School. The fire company was waiting on PECO when the explosion occurred.

Well done Kevin, this video reminds us of the risks taken everyday by the men and women of the EW Fire Co. They deserve our thanks and our contributions--to their vehicle fund, the bldg fund, etc. The mangled cars are a good reminder to be careful and put down the cell phone, the coffee, the snacks and just drive the car.

Great job to all the VOLUNTEERS as well as the career staff of Station 5.
How many people have said: I wouldn't be alive, if it weren't for station five......................
Keep up the good work and thank you all for your sacrifices.
