Bicyclist Hit, Killed By Vehicle on Boot Road in West Goshen
Kirsten Higley, 32, was fatally injured in the crash Monday morning.
A 32-year-old Exton woman was fatally injured after being hit by a vehicle while riding her bike on boot road.

A 32-year-old bicyclist was hit and killed by a vehicle on Boot Road in West Goshen Township Monday morning, according to West Goshen Police. The accident happened around 6:44 a.m. near the intersection with Mary Jane Lane, just west of Route 202.
According to police, Kirsten Higley, of Exton, was struck by a vehicle driven by Susan McClain, 54, of Downingtown. Higley died a short time later at Paoli Hospital.

I wonder if the driver that killed this person was 1. Late for work 2 eating and rinking her breakfast 3 . Texting 4 Calling girlfriend What ever she was doing SHE KILLED A PERSON I am sure the bicyclist did not jump in front of her car. When will we ever learn to keep both hands and our complete ATTENTION ON DRIVING

You might be completely right, Gerald, or not. You make assumptions that could be wrong. I realize biking on major roadways is totally legal, but I'm still against it. Let's face it, regardless of who is at fault in this type of situation, (and yes, sometimes the bikers are at fault and wreckless too!), the biker is always going to lose, probably his/her life. Looking at those odds, I wouldn't be riding on roadways. Drivers are terrible and wreckless and distracted; we all know that. It's not necessary to ride bikes in traffic. And I disagree that you jump to the conclusion that it was the driver. I am an extremely vigilant, cautious driver, and have never had one violation in my 30+ years of driving. Last summer I was on a major road, and a biker swerved right out in front of me. He was a middle-aged man, and I could have easily hit him. I stopped my car, and told him how angry I was. Of course, if I had hit him, you would all be saying it was my fault. Learn the details and facts before you accuse people.

that's a lot of wondering. Considering the stretch of road, it's possible that the victim quickly merged onto Boot from one of the side streets, and at the time of day (6:45AM), the driver didn't see her until it was too late.
Until the police know what happened, I'd be more focused on the life lost in this tragedy, instead of thinking of ways how to politicize it.

Don't be to fast to judge you don't know what happen so why are you judging I know this women and and you don't so just shut up! That road is a very dangersous road and is not safe for you to ride I bike on! You just need to shut your mouth because you have no clue what happened or anything!

Yes,...DUI almost twice the legal limit!
Such a sad situation. Boot Road has sections where it is very dangerous for bicyclist, but nothing excuses driving while impaired. It's wrong to judge anyone. So I will just leave it at that! Praying for all involved.

if you are a driver or a cyclist you have to pay attention at all times, no texting or blah blah im late too work.... proper lighting and gear you will be seen, i ride everyday it is a shame that drivers think it is to hard to push the brake one inch or turn the wheel two inches to aviod taking some ones life. or that bikers run stop signs and red lights, pretty much you have to be careful out there on roads whether via bike or car.... ps. dont use highbeams it really just blinds the cyclist you cant see a thing. if there was no dui i would say it was just unfortunate.... but...........
