Blotter: Car Egged, Double-Syrup'ed
Arrest information was supplied by the Malvern Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.
Burglary… On Nov. 9, a resident of the 100 block of West Broad Street reported that his home had been burglarized some time between 11 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. One of the glass panes of his apartment door had been broken, and the man showed police a glass jar labeled "car fund" that was reportedly missing $700 in cash.
Underage drinking... On Nov. 11, an officer in the Malvern Shopping Center observed a Toyota Camry headed east on King Street fail to stop at the intersection with Powelton Avenue. The officer stopped the vehicle on Warren Avenue and smelled alcohol inside. A 17-year-old girl, who was not driving, was found to be the only person drinking.
DUI… On Nov. 16, at 11:20 p.m., police stopped a Honda that had veered three feet into the oncoming lane of traffic near King Street and Crest Avenue. The driver, a 61-year-old Paoli man, had difficulty retrieving documents from his glove box. He failed field sobriety tests and police found a small box containing what appeared to be marijuana in his pants pocket. He was taken to Paoli Hospital for blood tests.
Underage drinking… On Nov. 16, police stopped an SUV with a nonfunctioning front headlamp straying from its lane on the 400 block of South Warren Avenue. Three male juveniles and two male adults were charged with underage drinking. The officer also smelled marijuana and found a small plasic bag of marijuana "shake." All five passengers denied ownership of the bag.
Criminal mischief… On Nov. 18, a resident of the 300 block of Broad Street reported that his vehicle had been hit with multiple eggs, and covered with chocolate and maple syrups. Shortly thereafter, another resident reported being victimized by eggs, too.
