Breastfeeding Week: Support For Mothers

Support for nursing mothers can make a positive difference in breastfeeding.

Any nursing mother will tell you that breastfeeding is not easy.

Having support groups to turn to during your nursing life can make or break your nursing goals, said Robin Frees, a lactation consultant with an office in Malvern.

According to the Nursing Mothers Alliance web site, they hold a weekly coffee group at JC’s Fireside Bistro (formerly known as Bear Rock Cafe) in King of Prussia every Friday at 10 a.m. The coffee shop is located at 192 W. DeKalb Pike.

According to its website, the international breastfeeding advocacy organization La Leche League has regular group meetings in Exton, West Chester and Media.

Frees holds walk-in consultation hours on Monday mornings at Wayne Pediatric Associates in Wayne. She is director of Newborn Concepts in Malvern.
