Country Club Death, Bear Sightings Are Not Related
A body was found in the vicinity of recent bear sightings, but there is not a connection.
Yes, there were reports in late October of bear sightings in the area of Delchester Road and Ridley Creek State Park.
Yes, police responded on Nov. 8 to a report of a body found at Edgmont Country Club, which is located between Delchester Road and the state park.
No—the two news items are not related.
Pennsylvania State Police spokesperson Rosemary McGuire told Patch Monday that the country club case was a natural death.
A Pennsylvania Game Commission official reached by phone Monday said he had not received any recent reports of bears in the area.

You're welcome. It seemed reasonable, given the geography, to wonder if the two were related... more so given the lack of details about the body. A Patch editor responded to the scene of that investigation that night, but couldn't get any information from police.
