East Whiteland Turnpike Ramps to Open Dec. 11
Gov. Tom Corbett will attend ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The new Pennsylvania Turnpike interchange at Route 29 in East Whiteland will open Dec. 11, according to the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission. Governor Tom Corbett will attend the ribbon cutting and grand opening event.
The $60 million project connects both directions of Route 29, known as Morehall Road in that area, to both directions of the turnpike, Interstate 76, via an E-ZPass-only interchange.

The project has been in the works for more than 20 years. Completion of the interchange in fall 2012 is consistent with the time frame set forth when ground was broken at the site in March 2011.

I thought a slip ramp meant only exiting traffic. That is how it was described at the EWT Supervisors meeting some time ago.

In the original plans it was supposed to be exit only. In one of the iterations it was changed, but neglected to mention it at a public meeting

people who exit the turnpike, will undoubtedly will need to return to where they came from. Letting people off without allowing them back on, wouldn't that increase the traffic in our area?

It may not make sense, see comments below, but that was what was described some time ago. folks ould still have gone to either of the two entrance ramps they do now in KOP or Exton area. smaller fingerprint, but the deal is done.

That would make no sense, I know from driving by that it is definitely a on/off ramp in both directions.

I understand that this will be an easy pass exit only. FYI.
