FBI: Malvern Man Gets 8 Years for Child Porn

Peter Zagorski, 31, pleaded guilty in May to distribution of child pornography after being caught by the FBI’s Child Exploitation Task Force.

United States Attorney Ronald C. Machen Jr. announced Tuesday that a Malvern resident Peter Zagorski was sentenced to eight years three months in prison for distribution of child pornography.

Zagorski, 31, pleaded guilty to the charge in May and was sentenced this week before U.S. District Judge Robert L. Wilkins. After completing his prison term, he will be placed on placed on 10 years of supervised release.

Zagorski came under suspicion while communicating online with an undercover agent serving with the FBI's Child Exploitation Task Force. An FBI press release lays out the narrative:

During the course of the communications, Zagorski expressed interest in meeting an under-aged girl and engaging in sexual contact with the child. Also during the course of the communications, Zagorski sent the undercover six videos of child pornography.

During communications over the next several weeks, Zagorski further expressed interest in watching the undercover performing sex acts with the under-aged girl via web camera over the Internet.

Law enforcement obtained an arrest warrant for Zagorski and a search warrant for his residence in Pennsylvania. Zagorski was arrested on November 18, 2011. A forensic analysis of computer equipment inside Zagorski’s residence confirmed that Zagorski also possessed nearly 60 videos and over 10 images of child pornography.

The full press release can be found on the FBI's website.

Only 8 years? We need a zero tolerance policy on this type of crime.

Only 8 years? Jesus Christ, I knew I lived in a conservative area but that's just beyond stupid. The age of consent in most places is 16. This girl could have been 17. You don't know the details, so relax with your generalizations.

Bil is probably the sort who whines about his taxes but then wants to incarcerate half the population but not pay for it.
