Frazer Movie Theater Closes

United Artists East Whiteland Stadium 9 closed permanently Sunday. A car dealership is expected to open in its place.

Malvern's only movie theater closed forever Sunday.

On Monday afternoon, workers were removing items from Frazer's United Artists East Whiteland Stadium 9 and loading them into trucks.

Malvern Patch reported in November that Devon Automotive Group was planning to open a Toyota dealership on the site.

A brief note thanking customers for years of business was taped to the doors Monday:

Effective Sunday, April 21, 2013, the United Artists East Whiteland Stadium 9 will be closed for business. We thank you for your patronage over the past 14 years and invite you to visit the below neighboring Regal Entertainment Group locations for all your movie watching needs.

The note lists locations in Newtown Square, King of Prussia and Oaks, and was signed, "Sincerely, Management—UA East Whiteland Stadium 9."
