Great Valley School District issued this message to parents:

This afternoon, at approximately 3:35 p.m., the Willistown Township Police Department notified us that they had reports of shots fired in the area of Sycamore Drive. In response, General Wayne Elementary School is now in a state of lockdown. While school busses are on site, students are not being released from school until the lockdown is lifted. All staff, drivers, and students are secure inside the school, which is locked and not accepting visitors. Students are being supervised by General Wayne staff members. Parents are asked not to report to school to pick up their children. Students will be transported home on their regular bus once the lockdown is lifted by the police department. You will receive additional information from the school district as it becomes available.
