MacDougall's Cakes Take Victory in Reader Poll
The Malvern-based company can be found at local farmers markets and events.
Earlier in the week, we asked about where to find the best cupcakes around, and when the polls closed at 9 a.m. Friday, MacDougall's Irish Victory Cakes had lived up to their name. The Malvern-based company that travels to local farmers markets and other events claimed 60 percent of the vote, beating out runner-up Dixie Picnic's trademarked "upcakes," which drew 16 percent.
Reader andy davitt was responsible for getting MacDougall's on the ballot, posting:
MacDougall's Irish Victory cakes are great!
A comment from Maureen Capobianco backed Dia Dolce—another traveling vendor who was added to the poll—but expressed an affinity for MacDougall's, too:
What about Dia Dolce cupcakes. To me these cupcakes far out rank your poll selections. MacDougall's ranks right up there for me.
Thanks to everyone who voted!

Congrats MacDougall's! I had them the last time I went to the GV Farmer's Market. Definitely awesome. Pete, is the farmers market going to be back this year? I thought they'd decided to discontinue it.

Last I heard the Great Valley market will not return. But the East Goshen market, which is a stone's throw from Willistown, is back in effect.
Anyone know of others in the Malvern area?

Hi Jennifer, it's held Thursdays in East Goshen Township Park on Paoli Pike, a stone's throw from the Willistown border. The outdoor market kicks off its season May 3. Check out our event listing for more info and video profiles of many of the vendors: http://patch.com/E-lFGw
