Malvern Area Population Projections Released

The Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission has released population projections for the Philadelphia metro area through 2040.

 

The Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission has released population projections for the Philadelphia metropolitan area, including all of Chester County, through 2040.

According to the data, every municipality in the county will grow by at least six percent over the next 30 years with West Brandywine Township, Upper Uwchlan Township, East Vincent Township, Modena Borough and Elverson Borough slated for the most growth in the county at over 50 percent.

For the years 2010 to 2040, DVRPC estimates that the following increases in population across the Malvern area: 

  • Malvern Borough: Population increase of 644, or 21.5 percent.
  • East Whiteland Township: Population increase of 2,745, or 25.8 percent.
  • Willistown Township: Population increase of 1,282 or 12.2 percent.
  • Charlestown Township: Population increase of 2,782 or 49.1 percent.

As a whole, the Philadelphia metro area is projected to gain more than 600,000 residents or an 11 percent increase region wide.
