Phase 3 is a Go: West Whiteland Approves Chester Valley Trail
The township supervisors approved a series of measures in favor of the county trail's extension toward Exton.
Fans of the Chester Valley Trail will be happy to hear that West Whiteland Township recently issued a series of approvals, paving the way for the trail's Phase III.
Township manager "Mac" Cotter emailed a synopsis of the Feb. 27 board meeting:
The Board approved the Developer Agreement, Storm Water Management Facilities Maintenance Agreement, Landscape Restrictive Covenant, and the Reimbursement and Indemnification Agreement, all in support of the approved CVT Phase III land development plan (approved in the fall of 2012).
The board also agreed to ask PennDOT for a traffic control device that would allow trail users to safely cross Lincoln Highway.
The crossing would be located in the section of the trail depicted in orange in the attached map. Cotter provided the exact location:
Should the application be approved, the crossing will be east of the intersection of Tabas Lane and Lincoln Highway, near the former Exton Hotel property.
The Chester County Parks Department keeps a log of trail construction updates and other notes on its website.

Hopefully they raise our taxes to keep this little used trail in good shape.

Little used? I was on it last weekend and passed hundreds of people just from Church Farms to Wegman's.
It's a safe way to get out and bike, run or skate without the constant danger of being hit by a distracted driver.

No, Dent they will raise your taxes to give money to lazy people that don't want to work, and rather suck off the system. Plus, a ton of private money has been put into this trail system!

Where has the private money come from?

@Rezzy Dent, You obviously have access to a computer why don't you try doing some research yourself on a project before objecting like some old curmudgeon. Maybe if you got involved in something that was for the greater good of our community you would be a happier person. Heck, just get out on the trail and get some fresh air. The numbers of people that you will pass who smile and say hello along the way will make for a brighter day.

I can't really object to your post except get outside plenty but I do kind of have a bad attitude. My point is live in a 3 bedroom ranch and pay $7,600 a year in taxes and when I see this I think tax increase, more everything would be great, but I'm sick of paying for it. And about me doing research, Jared said a ton of private money was invested, I thought he could provide some sources. I know allot of "Stimulus" money was put into it just curious where the rest came from.

I wish there would be a connection from Malvern Borough to get to this great trail... It sure stinks having to drive to Wegmans to park and then walk/bike across ugly Rt. 29 to get on to it.
