Reports: Romney Coming to Bucks Co. Sunday

The Morning Call reported Thursday night that Mitt Romney is planning a visit to the Philadelphia suburbs Sunday.

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney will visit Bucks County just two days before Election Day, the Morning Call reported Thursday night.

Reporter Colby Itkowitz of the Morning Call's Washington, D.C. bureau wrote the visit is "the strongest evidence yet of Romney making a last-second play for the state."

"Until now, Romney largely has ignored Pennsylvania and its 20 electoral college votes on the belief that the Democrat-leaning state could not be swayed. Fresh polls have shown the race tightening," Itkowitz reported.

Romney made a campaign stop on the Main Line at Valley Forge Military Academy at the end of September.

Why isn’t Pres. George W. Bush campaigning for Romney?

Bush is presenting at a tax evasion conference, the Cayman Alternative Investment Summit, held in the Cayman Islands: http://www.caymanai.com/

If Romney wasn’t running for office now, he would have been a terrific co-presenter. He has so much experience holding foreign bank accounts. Flip-flopper Romney, patron of the 1 percent and Chinese out-sourcing, isn’t ready to be POTUS.

Most (17 of 24) of Romney’s top advisors are former Bush advisors, so Romney would be just another GW Bush!

hard to say -- Romney seems much smarter than Bush, but Bush seems to resemble an actual human a little more than Romney...

of course, the fact that Romney's smart provides no comfort at all -- it makes him all the more capable of succeeding with his "i've got mine Jack, you can get screwed" policies...

i haven't been blown away by Obama's first four years, but he's at least not trying to take us back to some 1950s alternate universe...

Obama is a failed president. His presidency is a complete and utter failure. Unemployment and underemployment are at historic highs for historically long periods of time. Record numbers of people are on food stamps, welfare and other federal assistance. Millions have given up looking for work. Trillions was wasted on so-called stimulus spending which only benefited politically connected, rich friends of Obama. The deficit is at unsustainable levels, and the economy is stagnant.

What we have now is not what a real recovery looks like, if you can even call it a recovery.
From the latest jobs report:
"Unemployment for blacks showed the highest increase in the survey, surging to 14.3 percent from 13.4 percent.
Also, the average duration of unemployment climbed to a 2012 high of 40.2 weeks"

In the past I remember that job increases in the 350,000 range were considered good. The new normal is less is more-for the masses. For the politically connected elites, they get taxpayer funded stimulus $$$$ out the wazoo and all kinds of breaks.

Kristen,
Maybe if you were not on the computer all morning you would be able to get a job! Just saying...
Oh, and by the way, 5.4 million jobs were created in the President's first term. That is more than all of the years during the Bush Administration.

When Romney makes abortion illegal and takes away the day care tax refunds that will keep 1.5 million women from working. Hope you have fun supporting 1.5 million mothers that were forced to have babies that they could not afford or have medical needs where they need to take care of them for life.

Steve, you are absolutely correct. Maybe if Kristen stopped cutting and pasting from the viral right wing e-mails or listening only to Faux News, she might understand the facts.

I think we can all agree that a president can do very little to affect job growth during their first few months in office. It takes 4 to 6 months for any real changes the new president brings to the table to take effect. So a president gets no credit or blame for the job numbers during his/her first few months in office. That credit/blame goes to the previous president.

That being said, from the Bureua of Labor Statistics:

Under GW Bush (07/2001 through 06/2009) net job growth of 1.55 million or an average of 16,000 per month

Under Obama (07/2009 through 09/2012) net job growth of 2.99 million or an average of 77,000 per month

AhAHAHAAA Is all sudden Rev Wright not racist and obama was not his friend?

They don't want you to know!!! Who sits in a church with a racist reverend for 20 years and then gets married by him???

Coinicidence?

Two icons of the civil rights movement visited Forsyth on Saturday to campaign for the reelection of Barack Obama. Andrew Young and Rev. Dr. James Lowery spoke at St. James Baptist Church as part of a Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) tour across Georgia to encourage black voters to cast ballots for Obama.

Lowery, who turned 91 on Oct. 6, founded the SCLC along with Martin Luther King, Jr. in 1957 and has been a national leader and the recipient of many honors since that time. Numerous celebrities praised him at a celebration of his 90th birthday at Atlanta Symphony Hall last year.

Lowery gave the benediction at Obama's inauguration as 44th U.S. president on Jan. 20, 2009. Speaking to the group at St. James Baptist, Lowery said he liked giving the benediction because it gave him the last word. The only thing that followed him on the program was the "Star Spangled Banner." He said it was the first time in his life he enjoyed the national anthem; he said the anthem is too militaristic. He said he would like to see the national anthem changed to 'Lift Every Voice," which is known as the 'Negro National Anthem,' or to "America the Beautiful."

Change the national anthem????? NOWAY. We better cling to our guns and religion some more!!!

Another right wing cut and past job... These guys are so desperate they are grasping at straws. BTW Hous, which one did you copy your little post from - dailycaller.com, rightwingnews.com, newsbusters.org, hisvorpal.wordpress.com or the freerepublic.com? They all carried the same story, just because the 91 year old reverend said he'd like to change the national anthem.

Quite frankly, I've always thought "God Bless America" or "America the Beautiful" are better tunes than the "Star Spangled Banner" Both are more meaniful - and easier to sing!

Where's Obama??? Campaigning while Americans die and freeze to death!!

Not leadership. Bad character. Bad judgement

NBC's Brian Williams conducted a devastating exposé on the latest developments of the ravaged areas in Sandy's path. "There's no Red Cross," on resident exclaimed. Multiple residents vented their frustrations at the camera "Where is FEMA?" "Who do we go to for help?" "We need help!" NBC reported on the growing outrage by those hit hardest by the superstorm, cut off from access to necessities they are dependent on government aid to provide for their basic needs until the city has removed enough of the damage for residents to be able to leave. "They are still pulling out bodies," one resident said. Many residents who claimed they had lost everything have said that they haven't received any help from FEMA or the Red Cross.

But why isn't he able to get the former Republican president George W to come out for him? Oh, it seems that George W has been a little busy. He has been lecturing about moving money off shore to the Caymans, but don't expect details, as they have a "blackout" on the details from his speech there last night:

http://worldnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2012/11/02/14875519-blackout-imposed-as-george-w-bush-speaks-at-cayman-islands-investment-conference

And not getting any love from the Texas press over it:

http://dallasmorningviewsblog.dallasnews.com/2012/11/bushs-top-secret-cayman-islands-speech-youre-welcome-america.html/

Guaranteed, next year's keynote speech will be from "former GOP presidential candidate; Mitt Romney."

News Flash! You can't reverse 8 years of unconscionable government behavior under Bush in four years. The unemployment rate is higher because the Bush administration set in motion an economic collapse second only to that by Herbert Hoover (also a rugged individualist thinking Republican). When you expect miracles in presidential performance you are delusional. Good economists have said that reversing the economic decline that Obama inherited (not created) will take six to eight years. Romney endorses the policies that caused the mess. That is not a cure for healing the mess.

So petty, Tim. Governor Romney has a consistent record of incredible personal generosity, as his much maligned tax returns for the past ten years confirm. From published accounts, it appears Joe Biden gave an average of .02% of his income to charity (about $350/year), while during that same time, Romney tithed at least 10%, an amount often in seven figures. If I've done my arithmetic correctly, that means Romney has been giving away his money at a rate 500% higher than Joe Biden.

Actually, I did get the arithmetic wrong. It's 500 times higher, not 500 percent. Huge difference.

Anyone who thinks Romney would be a transparent president hasn't been watching the news. If Romney doesn't want to answer a question he pretends he doesn't hear it. He throws up media blackouts. No (non-Fox) interviews. He doesn't feel he should have to answer people.. Or as Ann likes to call them "you people".

Romney told college students that if they need money to start a business they should just "borrow money from their parents". While that might make sense to people who grew up like Romney, GWBush.. It doesn't make sense to the rest of us. Clinton and Obama grew up with single moms who struggled to get by and raise them.
I think they have a better understanding of what the typical American family goes through and what it takes to succeed in the world.
