Sunday: 'Green Eggs and Ham' Concert at Immaculata
The Immaculata Symphony will perform a rendition the classic Dr. Seuss book.
Dr. Seuss will get the full orchestra treatment Sunday at Immaculata University's Alumnae Hall.
The Immaculata Symphony, under the baton of Joseph Gehring, will perform "Green Eggs and Ham." The role of Sam-I-am will be voiced by Zachary Powell, a sixth-grader at the Pennsylvania Leadership Charter School in West Chester.
According to the symphony website, the concert will begin with an interactive "name that tune" contest. During the main performance, young patrons are encouraged to read along with the singing.
Bring your own copy of the book and follow along as the orchestra sets this colorful tale to music, with help from soprano Barbara Harris Kovacs and “Sam-I-am” played by Zachary Powell.
The concert begins at 3 p.m. Tickets are $10 or free for children under 12, and can be purchased at the door.
