Great American Pub Is Open for Business in Willistown

An appreciable, appreciative crowd turned out for the low-key opening day.

Great American Pub opened the doors of its new King Street location in northeast Willistown Thursday.

The management had planned a "quiet open," but the word obviously got out. Customers teemed in for lunch with busy schedules and high expectations.

Marty Mullen is the general manager of the new location at 516 E. King Road, just west of Route 30. He expressed excitement and satisfaction with the success of the pub’s first day. The new customers appeared to agree, as evidenced by the filled parking lot and dining room.

For some diners, the enjoyment of the new Pub location might be bittersweet. The building’s former occupant, Casey’s Dugout Saloon, was a staple in the community.

According to Mullen, the owners plan to install a speaker system and offer live solo acts on Saturday nights. The new system is expected to be up and running by the end of March.
