Three Malvern Prep Students Named National Merit Semifinalists

Four other Malvern Prep boys are commended students.

Seven Malvern Preparatory School seniors have been honored in this year’s National Merit Scholarship Program. Three members of the Class of 2012 were named National Merit Semifinalists and four students were honored as Commended students.

The Semifinalists are Nicholas B. Anderson of Havertown, Kyle P. Naser of Havertown and Akul V. Penugonda of Lansdowne.  They have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 8,300 National Merit Scholarships worth more than $34 million that will be offered next spring.

The Commended Students are Ryan P. Bonner of West Chester, Thomas A. Pitt of West Chester, Paul A. Regan of Downingtown and John H. Sheridan of West Chester.  A Letter of Commendation from the school and National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC), which conducts the program, will be presented to these scholastically talented young men.
