Wawa Voted Best Hoagie Spot

The chain market took 40 percent of the vote in our weekly poll.

On Monday, we asked readers where they go when they want a great hoagie. When voting ended Friday morning, Wawa Food Markets emerged on top.

The chain food-store-hoagie-shop-gas-station, which has four locations in the Malvern Patch coverage area alone, claimed 40 percent of the vote.

Anthony's Pizza came in second with 18 percent of the vote, while Julie Anne's Place drew 13 percent for the bronze.

Commenter Larry Sybrandt was among those who voted for Wawa, but also agreed with the choice for runner-up:

My vote - Wawa. I can see Anthonys as a very close second. Wawa can't touch Anthony's meatball hoagie or Italian grinders. Haven't tried some places on the list in all fairness. This is a good one. It also brings in to the discussion what is the difference between a hoagie and a sub?

Thanks to everyone who voted!

It seems most of you have either no taste whatsoever or have never had a PRIMO hoagie.
If it's the latter, I suggest you get your tails over to a PRIMO hoagie shop, try one and then post back.
More expensive, yep, bigger in size, yep, but the bread and FRESH cut meat to order is to die for and worth every penny!

Jim, PRIMO is delicous! Fresh ingredients go a long way and it starts with the bread.

Best doesn't always need to mean best tasting.
