Willistown's Drop-Off Recycling Day Is April 6

Willistown and Malvern Borough residents can drop off tires, metal, refrigerators, air conditioners and electronics at the municipal building.

 

Update 3/22/13—Clarification:  The recycling event is open only to Willistown and Malvern Borough residents. Items from residents of other municipalities will not be accepted.

Willistown Township will offer its annual drop-off recycling event at the township building on Saturday, April 6, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The attached PDF, pulled from the February township newsletter, has all the details about what will and won't be accepted.

Note that the event will be held at the township building next to the police station, at 688 Sugartown Road, and not at the temporary office on Lloyd Avenue.

PA State Rep Duane D. Milne is offering an annual shredding, recycling and National Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, April 27th from 10 AM to 2 PM at the Penn State Great Valley Campus parking lot, 30 Swedesford Road (partnering with the East Whiteland Police Department). You can access more information at www.duanemilne.com or call (610) 251-1070. There's a whole list of items they will accept including TVs larger than 32", refrigerators, washing machines, dishwashers, light bulbs & batteries, eye glasses, hearing aids, FADED AND WORN FLAGS, cell phones/chargers etc. in addition to shredding. They will also accept expired or unused prescription/non-prescription drugs (no needles or epi pens please). Hooray!!!

Thanks for mentioning this, Regina, but many of those items are actually listed as things they will NOT accept—namely, TVs larger than 32", refrigerators, washing machines and dishwashers.
