Willistown Supervisors to Vote on Applebrook Meadows Phase II

Toll Brothers plans to build 139 luxury homes near the intersection of Line Road and Paoli Pike.

At its Monday night meeting, the Willistown Board of Supervisors is expected to vote on approval of the second phase of a large residential development on the township's western edge.

Applebrook Meadows is a Toll Brothers development located off Line Road south of Paoli Pike. The full, three-phase development plan calls for 139 new units in a "luxury carriage home community," according to the Toll Brothers' website. Thirty-six of the homes have already sold.

The Oct. 8 meeting will determine whether the project continues to expand to its planned size, according to the meeting agenda (PDF):

In 2011, the board voted 2-0 to approve Phase I of the project, which included 54 homes, 36 of which have since sold. Supervisor Robert Lange abstained from the vote, saying the development would erode that section of Willistown.

Must we cover every square inch of open land? What is the end result here?

If Supervisor Lange thought it would erode that section of Willistown why didn't he vote agai st it instead of abstaining?
