Trash Dumping on Warren Ave.

I am looking for help on a trash dumping problem in Malvern Borough and East Whiteland Township, primarily along Warren Ave. The problem has existed for over 1 year. I have filed many police reports with both police departments, engaged neighbors, met with the Malvern Borough police chief and picked up the trash etc. Police have responded to my calls but "unless they see the individual dumping" not much else they can do. There are trash bags in the borough and township currently. The police have picked up and looked through a few bags looking for evidence. There has never been anything in the bags besides beer cans. The bags have also been found on Spring Road, and Old Lancaster Road. Since Spring Rd. is not a "cut through" street it could lead one to believe it is a resident of Spring Rd. I would like to make the community aware of the dumping and ask you to report the dumping to the police on 610-647-1440.

Hmm. The 'gentlemen' litter bugs, puts their empties in a bag and leaves them all in one place. IMHO that's better than throwing out the car window one at a time but still has room for improvement. Likely someone who wants to hide their drinking so they are dropping off the evidence. Over the years I have noticed that this kind of stuff increases when the new high school grads are allowed to stay out past their parents bedtime.

Thanks for reading and posting. I believe it to be an older adult because of the brand, Busch, and the dumping takes place at various hours and various days. I've been trying to note a pattern to give to the police but it is all over the board--not like kids drinking on the weekend. I've pulled bags off of the double yellow line on Warren Ave at 10:30 am on a Thurdsday morning. I hope other folks read this blog and start to notice the dumping and call the police. 610-647-1440. Hope someone catches this person in the act!

I suggest you stop at Harlan Bev and The Pig and ask who regularly buys Busch. It is not a popular brand

The police said they have already done this......Malvern Pizza also sells packaged beer. Keep the ideas coming. Thanks for reading and posting.

Just think about it....when they get caught, and they will... they'll be in orange vests picking up all the trash along side of the roads! Poetic justice!!!

I can only hope engaging as many people as possible, including police, residents, township/borough managers will help bring this problem to an end. Thanks for reading and posting.

It's not just beer cans, the corner of Warren and Old Lancaster had fast food trash inc. WaWa trash almost every afternoon that I see the residents there pick up in traffic in the evening.

In fact I saw the same Busch beer boxes on the corner of Old Lancaster and Old Lincoln, as well. The beer cans only started getting dumped on Old Lancaster w/in the last couple of weeks. The bag across from 20 Old Lancaster has been there for about 2 weeks. The concentration is on Warren Av between Quaker Ln and Spring Rd. If you know the neighbors picking up trash please thank them. I've been cleaning up on Warren Av for many monthes. I encourage the neighbors to call the police and report the dumping, especially if anyone can get a plate number. 610-647-1440. Thanks for posting.

Thank you for your post Jill! I have been picking up Busch Light cans in a local neighborhood for the past few months and your story hit home with me. On a fairly consistent basis, someone throws their cans in the grass lot at the corner of Lloyd Avenue and Paoli Pike. The cans are typically loose, with no boxes or plastic bags, and the mess is anywhere from a single can a plastic bag full. I am not sure who owns the property or who is responsible for maintaining it, as there is no residential home on this corner. I do believe that there is another concerned citizen out there who is helping with the clean up, because sometimes I’ll see a few cans and by the time I get a bag and go to pick up the cans they are gone. It is refreshing to think that someone else is going out of their way to clean up the mess of a local ignoramus who has no respect for our neighborhoods and our township.

Maybe we have the beginning and end of the trail this dumper travels. After many police reports and conversations I am told the same thing.. "someone needs to catch this dirt bag throwing the cans out of the car". If you know Warren Av there is no place to park and watch for this because the road is curvy. The dumping happens during the daytime most often and no other clear pattern as far as time. In fact a bag was dumped today between 8:30am and 3:30pm on Warren Av near Quaker Ln. I noticed w/in the last week the busch beer boxes on the corner of Grubb Rd and Paoli Pike. I'm now most interested in the property where you have cleaned up. I wonder what type of business is close by. I have a suspect, which the police also know about, and it would be most interesting to see the suspects cars in the area you have mentioned. There are probably spots where the police could sit to watch that particular lot also. I so encourage you to contact the police at 610-647-1440. I believe the area you are talking about to be Willistown Township. If you do file a report please be clear the problem also exists in Malvern Borough and I would expect Willistown to contact the chief in Malvern.

Last night at 9pm returning with my son from a Boy scout's meeting, there was a slew of trash on N. Warren Ave. near the woods area. Too dark and unsafe at that hour to clean up. disgrace to those who keep dumping.

Tom, Glad someone else is noticing. Lately I've only been calling the police when the bags interfere with traffic. I called E Whiteland this morning because of 2 bags between Spring Rd and 333 Warren Av. Other then that I've been picking up about 4 bags a week. I've filed numerous reports with both Malvern and E Whiteland police. Police are sympathetic but can not do anyting unless someone witnesses the dumper. Believe me we have our suspect and have reported them to the police. I want the police to mount a camera although they don't feel there is enough of a chance of catching the dumper, man hours involved in looking at film etc. Why is it I pay $400/year for trash and this dirt bag has been able to dump his Busch beer cans for almost 2 years with no consequence. More then frustrated with this activity and cleaning the streets. E Whiteland's manager went so far as to suggest the home owner needs to clean up the trash. Guess she doesn't know there are no houses on Warren where a lot of the dumping is taking place. You can pretty much count on a bag getting dumped sometime on Saturday on Malvern's side of Spring Rd. between Spring and Quaker Ln. Please advise of any suggestions or authority that can help.

thank you all. I believe we need some no dumping signs with a fine listed and then enforced. The stop signs at N. Warren and old lancaster were amusing at first, but the seargent w/East Whiteland said they were mostly uninforceable with the local judge. He was reported to say to a resident that the judge said there were too many tickets. Lets take those sign polution signs down then under the actual stop signs and put up no dumping signs.

As predicted from Nov. 29th......beer cans dumped on Warren Av. between 12-1pm on Saturday Dec 1st. Cans dumped near Quaker Ln and the box they came in was dumped on Spring Rd. Added a picture of the bright orange Busch beer box. Reported it to the Malvern police. Wonder if the police will check to see if the bright orange box is sold by all local distributors or could they narrow it down??? Oh, but the police may not consider dumping beer cans a crime worth pursuing even though it's been going on for over a year....then again they drive by the same trash I do and they know about the problem but keep driving. Yes, usually after a day or two of disgust I pick up the trash. When will someone take this seriously??? As usual if you see anything call the police at 610-647-1440.

Large garbage bag at the entrance to the employee driveway to the Warren Inne near the street. Warren Inn looks great in the background. Former bus partner who lives around Warren and Old Lancaster says there is an increase in car projected trash since the start of the Cubesmart land clearance + building. Bottles and fast food sandwich bages out car windows, why? They are looking forward of things to come for the neighborhood after the storage unit is built.

We only picked up 2 bags of beer cans from Warren Ave. this week. Usually 4 or more. We thought they may be dumping somewhere else. The suspect lives on Spring Rd so it does not surprise me to find trash coming in past the Inne. I walk a lot so I notice a lot....there is a Busch carton or two on the curve past the Inne going into the Village.

Regarding additional trash possibily coming from construction site.....I would think a call to EW police and the police could then bring it to the construction site manager's attention. 610-647-1440.

Thanks for keeping yor eyes open.

Still cleaning up trash at the corner of N. Warren and Old Lancaster; much more trash in the last few weeks; some 1/2 doz have been closed water bottles with yellow or brown liquid in them, some with paper. Gross, but the clean up has to be done; as well as the drain on that corner monitored to avoid flooding. A new drain has been promised for the spring, here's hoping. The trash arrives before 7am and after 11pm. Pls report offenders. Thank you.

In addition to the trash Walt mentioned, there is a bag of beer cans near the base of the construction sign at the entrance to the Cube Smart construction site. Same Busch beer cans that get dumped on Warren Av. Call 610-647-1440 to report the dumping of beer cans. Chronic problem and the police need someone who may witness the dumping to report it.

Busch beer cans scattered along Warren Ave between Quaker Lane and Spring Rd, along the stream side of Warren. Busch beer cans scattered in the curb of The Wood Shop at 214 N. Warren Av. Several other places real close where there are flattened Busch beer cartons and other bags filled with beer cans. What do the police see when driving by? I would think all officers in both the borough and EW township could report to the respective township or borough and ask the streets department to clean up. We clean up about 4 bags weekly and we're quite tired of cleaning up after this habitual offender. Reported to the EPA today......how long will it take for the trash to roll into the stream that feeds Valley Creek? Who can help catch this dirt bag that uses our neighborhood to dump his beer cans????
