P.T. Barnum Brings Down the House at Footlighters

BARNUM, the Circus Musical opened at Footlighters Theater last weekend with one goal:  to bring to life the excitement of the circus as well as the famous Master of Humbug, Phineas T. Barnum, on their historic stage at 58 Main Avenue in Berwyn.  Word on the street is that they did this and much, much more!

BARNUM opened at Footlighters Theater on Friday, April 25th.  Patron comments heard on their way out included: "Just fabulous!" "I'm telling everyone I know; thank goodness you have three more weekends of shows!" "That was better than some productions we've seen at Walnut Street!"

WOW! Come see for yourself what has these folks experienced!   While most Americans today are familiar with the larger than life "Barnum and Bailey Circus," many may not know of its roots in the heart and mind of one P.T. Barnum, a magnificent showman of the mid-1800’s whose success came from promoting curiosities and attractions with panache and a judicious mix of truth and creativity.  Barnum spent his life finding more and more, bigger and better persona and acts to share with his ever growing audiences.  He introduced America to Jumbo the Elephant, Jenny Lind the "Swedish Nightingale", the famous "little man" General Tom Thumb and many more.  Mark Bramble took the remarkable story of P.T. Barnum's roller coaster life of success and failure and put them to music by Cy Coleman (lyrics by Michael Stewart) and then liberally mixed in The Circus in this one-of-a kind production, unlike any musical you may have ever seen.
