VILLA MARIA COORDINATES THANKSGIVING FOOD DRIVE

Villa Maria Academy High School’s French and Latin Honor Societies launched the school’s annual Thanksgiving food drive by purchasing and decorating laundry baskets, which were distributed to all homerooms. Students filled the baskets with food for the holiday. The baskets contained turkeys and fixings for a complete Thanksgiving dinner and were delivered to St. Agnes Day Room, which serves the basic needs of poor and immigrant families in the West Chester area, and the Missionary Sisters of Charity, who serve the needy in Norristown. Students at the all-girls Catholic college preparatory school have many opportunities to engage in service projects, which encourage young women to use their gifts to benefit society.

About Villa Maria Academy

Villa Maria Academy High School (Malvern, Pa.) is a private Catholic high school, preparing girls for college and beyond in the tradition of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. At Villa Maria, students are taught to be critical thinkers and confident leaders. These young ladies pursue a course of study that will continually reinforce analytical problem-solving skills, high-level thinking, and increasingly independent work.
