Grab & Go Planner: Snow-Free Fun!

Harvest Walk & Family Festival this Saturday at East Goshen Park, and Malvern Prep hosts 'Miracle on 34th Street.'

With no snowflakes in the forecast, this upcoming weekend's weather is ideal for outdoor activities. Kick off the weekend on Saturday morning with a family charity walk at the East Goshen Park followed by a Family Festvial at nearby Christ Memorial Lutheran Church. Cheer on the Great Valley High School Marching Band Saturday afternoon during the 'Stoga Showcase of Sound. Then Sunday, climb the "Totally Terrific Treehouses" at the Tyler Arboretum. Put the shovels and gloves away and enjoy the sunny weather!

  • Where/When: Malvern Preparatory School, 418 Warren Avenue, Malvern; November 4, 5, 11 and 12; 8 - 10 p.m.
  • Why Go: Experience a holiday classic performed by students of Malvern Prep, Villa Maria Academy and Notra Dame Academy. Children of all ages will enjoy this heartwarming story. For addtional information and to purchase tickets, visit Malvern Prep's website.
  • Price: Tickets $17 per person.

  • Where/When: East Goshen Park, Paoli Pike and Line Road, Malvern; Saturday, November 5, 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
  • Why Go: Enjoy a non-snowy Saturday morning outdoors with the family. Every participants receives a t-shirt and team prizes will be given out. All participants should bring a Thanksgiving-themed canned goods to benefit the West Chester Food Panty. To register online, visit www.harvestwalk.org.
  • Price: Suggested donation of $10 per person or $30 per famiy.

  • Where/When: Christ Memorial Luthern Church, Paoli Pike and Line Road, Malvern; Saturday, November 5, 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
  • Why Go: A moon bounce, fire truck, dance party and much more will fill the parking lot of Christ Memorial Luthern Church during the 2011 family festival. Visit the festival webpage for additional information.
  • Price: Free. Donations will benefit Orphan Grain Train.

  • Where/When: Conestoga High School, 200 Irish Road, Berwyn; Saturday, November 5, 4:30 p.m.
  • Why Go: The entire family will enjoy an evening of music and color guard performances by area high school bands, including Great Valley. To purchase tickets visit the Stogamusic Events webpage.
  • Price: $10 for adults. $8 for students and seniors.

Totally Terrific Treehouses

  • Where/When: Tyler Arboretum, 515 Painter Road, Media; through Sunday, November 27, Monday thru Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
  • Why Go: Explore seven unique treehouses built by area architects. Tyler Arborteum is one of the oldest arboreta's in the country with over 600 acres of rare plants, hiking trails and historic buildings. For more information about the arborteum, visit www.tylerarboretum.org.
  • Price: Free for members. Non-members $9 for adults, $8 for seniors, $5 for youth, free for children under three.
