Grab & Go Planner: Dashing All the Way

Run in holiday gear at the annual Jingle Bell Run/Walk in Malvern Sunday.

Love to run or walk? Then register for the Jingle Bell Run/Walk this Sunday at General Wayne Elementary School. Proceeds from the event benefit the Arthriths Foundation. Or, celebrate the holidays with Winnie-the-Pooh as he helps Eeyore find his tail during "A Winnie-the-Pooh Christmas Tail" in Media. Take a break from holiday decorating and planning to experience the lighting of the Firebird in Phoenixville Satruday evening.

  • Where/When: , 20 Devon Road, Malvern; Sunday, December 11; Registration begins at 8 a.m., race begins at 10 a.m.
  • Why Go: Support the Arthrithis Foundation while enjoying the holiday season. Participants are encouraged to wear holiday-themed costumes. There is something for the entire family, from a dog expo to kid's fun run for ages two to 12. Check out the race website for additional information and to register.
  • Price: Adult (ages 19 and older) $25, teenager $15, kid's fun run $15.

  • Where/When: 347 Bridge St., Phoenixville; Saturday, December 10, 3 - 10 p.m.

A Winnie-the-Pooh Christmas Tail

  • Where/When: Hedgerow Theatre, 64 Rose Valley Road, Media; Saturdays, December 10 and 17, 11 a.m.
  • Why Go: Go on adventure with Eeyore and his friends in search of his missing tail. Audience members will enjoy meeting their favorite characters and refreshments in the lobby after the show. Visit the Hedgerow Theatre website for addtional information. 
  • Price: Children $9, adults $11.

  • Where/When: Longwood Gardens, 1001 Longwood Road, Kennett Square; Saturdays and Sundays, December 10, 11, 17 and 18, 8:30 and 10 a.m.
  • Why Go: Little ones can share their Christmas list with Santa before he heads back to the North Pole. Participants will also enjoy breakfast prepared by the Terrace Restaurant chefs. To order tickets online, visit the Longwood Gardens website
  • Price: For non-members: ages 12 & over $40, ages 5-11 $22, ages 1-4 $5, under 12 months free. Prices include Gardens admissions. For members: ages 12 & over $32, ages 5-11 $18, ages 1-4 $5, under 12 months free.

Holiday Hayride

  • Where/When: Arasapha Farms, 1835 Middletown Road, Glen Mills; December 9, 10, 11, and 16-23, 6 - 9 p.m. Weather permitting.
  • Why Go: Experience the sounds and lights of the holiday via hay wagon through the decorated landscape of Arasapha Farm. After the ride, participants will enjoy a bonfire and hot chocolate. For more information about the seasonal event, visit www.holidayhayride.com.  
  • Price: Adults $10, senior $9, child $7, children under one free with a paid adult.
