Lanes Closing at Night on 202

Night work will impact traffic on 202 in the area through July.

The following release comes from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation:

Motorists will encounter nighttime lane and ramp restrictions on U.S. Route 202 in Chester County next week for construction to expand the highway to six lanes between the Swedesford Road and U.S. Route 30 interchanges in Tredyffrin and East Whiteland townships, PennDOT announced.

The schedule is:

  • On Tuesday through Thursday (July 22-25), Route 202 north will be reduced to one lane between Route 30 and the Mill Lane overpass north of Route 401 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning for barrier placement and overhead sign installation;
  • On Tuesday (July 23), Route 202 south will be reduced to one lane approaching Route 401 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Wednesday (July 24) for overhead sign installation.  Intermittent stoppages of northbound and southbound traffic for up to 15 minutes will take place between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. Wednesday (July 24). If rain postpones Tuesday night’s operation, the work will take place between 8 p.m. Wednesday and 5 a.m. Thursday (July 24-25);
  • On Wednesday (July 24), Route 202 south will be reduced to one lane between Chesterbrook Boulevard and Route 29 from 8 p.m. to midnight for sound wall construction; and
  • On Thursday (July 25), Route 202 north will be reduced to one lane between the Route 29 Interchange and the Cedar Hollow Road overpass for paving.

In addition, lane closures may occur in both directions on Route 401 between Moores Road and Mill Lane in East Whiteland Township on Sunday through Friday (July 21-26) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. for construction at the Route 202
