Lanes Closing on Route 202

Roadwork is going to reduce a major road's lanes.

The following information comes from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation:

Nighttime lane and ramp restrictions are scheduled on U.S. Route 202 in Chester County next week for road improvements between the Route 29 and U.S. Route 30 interchanges in East Whiteland Township, PennDOT announced.

Weather permitting, the contractor’s schedule is:

  • On Monday (July 15), Route 202 north will be reduced to one lane between Route 401 and the Swedesford Road overpass at the Route 29 Interchange from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Tuesday (July 16) for road construction. Intermittent stoppages of northbound traffic may occur between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. In the event of rain, this work will occur the following night;
  • On Tuesday (July 16), Route 202 south will be reduced to one lane approaching the Route 401 Interchange from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Wednesday (July 17) for the installation of an overhead sign structure. Intermittent stoppages of southbound traffic may occur between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. In the event of rain, this work will be moved back on night; and

  • On Tuesday through Thursday (July 16-18), Route 202 north will be reduced to one lane between Route 30 and Route 401 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning for barrier placement and other construction activities.

In addition, travel restrictions are scheduled on Route 401 between Moores Road and Mill Lane in East Whiteland Township on Sunday through Friday (July 14-19) from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for road and bridge construction at the Route 202 interchange.
