Malvern Prep Alum Wins Pulitzer Prize

Will Hobson won the local reporting award for his coverage of Tampa Bay's transitional housing for the city's poor and homeless.

Will Hobson, 29, an alumnus of Malvern Prep, on Monday was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for local reporting.

Hobson and fellow Tampa Bay Times reporter Michael LaForgia won the award for reporting on transitional housing for the city's poor and homeless.

In announcing the win, the Pulitzer committee praised Hobson and LaForgia "for their relentless investigation into the squalid conditions that marked housing for the city’s substantial homeless population, leading to swift reforms."

Hobson's biography on the Pulitzer site says he was born in Miami and raised in the Philadelphia suburbs. He attended Boston College.
