Rail Line Could Come to Valley Forge

A meeting on Tuesday is the first step in expanded SEPTA rail coverage in Malvern.

Rail service to Valley Forge and the King of Prussia Mall could be on its way to the area.

SETPA is holding a “public scoping meeting / open house” for its planned King of Prussia rail project on Tuesday, July 14.

The plan for the meeting, according to a release from SEPTA and a story from Philly.com, is to give area residents an advanced look at how a new rail line would service King of Prussia and Valley Forge.

The SEPTA release states that “the public is invited to view the latest project information, meet with project team members and … submit oral testimony” about how an area rail line would impact their lives.

The meeting is a little more than a public forum, however. This release states that it will also serve as a notice of intent to prepare environmental impact studies and area evaluations regarding increased transit service to the area.

In other words: Valley Forge could be getting a rail line in the near future, and this meeting is the first real step in that process.

The meeting is scheduled for 4 to 8 p.m. at the Radisson Hotel at Valley Forge. A presentation on the rail line will take place at 6 p.m. The event
