Route 29 To Be Closed, Detoured, In May

Route 29 (Morehall Road) will be closed and detoured between Charlestown and Pothouse roads, Mondays through Fridays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. through May 25.

The following information has been provided by PennDOT.

Weekday closures of Route 29 in Charlestown and Schuylkill townships, Chester County will start Wednesday, May 2, and last approximately three weeks for pavement repairs, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said today.

Route 29 will be closed and detoured between Charlestown Road and Pothouse Road on Mondays through Fridays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. through May 25. The posted detour will direct through traffic over White Horse Road and Pothouse Road. Local access will be maintained.

PennDOT Chester County maintenance crews will replace areas of deteriorated pavement on Route 29 in advance of repaving the roadway in 2013. The road closure is required due to the size of the construction machinery to be used during the operation.
