SPCA: Chester County Restaurant Closed, Abandoned Fish Tank

The SPCA says it was able to rescue the fish, and is currently holding them.

Tanks full of fish were abandoned after a Chester County restaurant abruptly closed, the Chester County SPCA says.

The SPCA did not name the offending restaurant, though a number of savvy Facebook detectives think -- based on photos -- that it is a Chinese buffet that recently closed in Exton.

No one has been caring for the fish, the SPCA says, and it doesn't have specific information about varieties or how many there are. There are "several large tanks full of pet fish," the SPCA says, adding that it has been asked to help find homes for the fish.

In photos posted by the Chester County SPCA on its Facebook page, the water in the tanks is murky. The SPCA says it was able to rescue the fish, and is currently holding them.

The SPCA is unsure when or if the fish will be able to be adopted, it said.
