Festival of Children's Books

The second annual Festival of Children’s Books will take place at Chester County Book and Music Company this Saturday. Among those attending will be Debbie Dadey, author (with Marcia Thornton Jones) of the wildly popular BAILEY SCHOOL KIDS series, as well as the exciting new series, MERMAID TALES; Mônica Carnesi, whose first book, LITTLE DOG LOST, earned a starred review from the notoriously hard-to-please Kirkus Review; and Matt Phelan, author and illustrator of the award-winning THE STORM IN THE BARN, among many other titles.

Many other writers and illustrators of everything from picture books through young-adult novels will also be at the CCMBC, signing books, giving readings and answering readers’ questions. Readers of all ages will be able to leaf through the latest books by Becky Birtha, Jen Bryant, Lindsay Barrett George, Kathye Petrie, Susan Shaw, Michael Townsend, K.M. Walton, Shannon Wiersbitzky and Ruth G. Zavitsanos.

The event is a superb opportunity for school administrators, teachers and librarians to meet and interact with a fantastic pool of potential visiting authors and illustrators, all of whom offer fun, educational programs aimed at young readers, writers and artists.
