Get Out: Book Signing and Outdoor Festivals

July 22-24 edition.

Ardmore Unity Day and Sweetcorn and Blackberry Festival are great opportunities to get outdoors and enjoy the summer weather.  Bookworms have a chance to hear one of Malvern’s authors speak about her latest book, and night owls can enjoy great food and live music at Wegman’s or the Cedar Hollow Inn.

  • Where/When: Chester County Library, 450 Exton Square Parkway, Exton, July 23, 1:30pm - 2:30pm.
  • Why Go: Malvern author and historian Nancy B. Schmitt will talk about her latest book, Malvern Treasures.  The book highlights the role of women in the borough of Malvern throughout the 20th century. Visit Nancy’s blog for more information.

  • Where/When: Malvern Wegmans, 50 Foundry Way, on Friday, July 22, 6:00pm - 8:00pm.
  • Why Go: Every Friday, Wegmans offers live music and a delicious cafe menu selections including pizza, subs, wokery, and burritos. This Friday’s artist is John Valerio, a pop/acoustic guitarist and vocalist from Phoenixville. Check out John’s page to learn more.

  • Why Go: This annual Ardmore event promises an afternoon packed with food, games, and music. There will be softball and basketball games, and 6 local bands will provide musical entertainment.

  • Why Go: Cedar Hollow Inn has a late-night menu and offers live entertainment every weekend. This week’s artists are Zach and Slater. 

 

  • Where/When: Linvilla Orchards, 137 W Knowlton Rd, Media, July 23, 9:00am - 6:00pm.
  • Why Go: Come out dressed like pirates and princesses and pick fresh corn and blackberries, enjoy live entertainment, and participate in games and activities throughout the day.  There will be a cooking demonstration at 4:00pm as well.  Visit the event website for more information.
