Grab & Go Planner: Painted Plates and the Easter Bunny

April 21-27, 2011, edition.

Don’t want to spend another weekend in front of the TV? Grab your little ones and head out to one of the many Easter-themed, family-friendly events in the region.

Most of these are a bit of a drive, so if you know of great family events happening in the next week around the Malvern area, tell us in the comments or by e-mail!

  • Milk and Cookies Show

    Where/When: , April 24, 10 a.m.

    Why Go: enjoy quality children's entertainment at a family-friendly cafe.

    Price: $5 per person, babies free.

  • Easter Bunny on the Strasburg Rail Road 

    When/Where: Route 741 East, Strasburg, April 22-24.

    Why Go: enjoy a ride through the Pennsylvania countryside with the Easter Bunny.

    Price: Varies by car, $16-28 for adults, $9.50-11.50 for children, $2-4 for infants. Reserve in advance, as the railroad's events often sell out.

  • Free Admission at the Brandywine River Museum

    Where/When: Brandywine River Museum, April 24, 9:30 a.m. - noon. 

    Why Go: The museum offers free admission for the whole family on Sunday mornings.

    Price: Free

  • Family Night at the Painted Plate

    Where/When: , April 23, 6 - 9 p.m.

    Why Go: The Painted Plate serves free pizza while you enjoy an evening of family arts and crafts.

  • Tea With the Easter Bunny

    When/Where: , April 23, 1 - 3 p.m.

    Why Go: children enjoy a holiday-themed afternoon with the Easter Bunny.

    Price: $49.95 for 1 child and 1 adult, $24.95 for each additional person. Reservations are required by Wednesday.
