  • Why Go: Children enjoy an exciting magic show by local magician Kevin Joyce and puppeteers from Puppets Pizzazz in Richboro in a serene park location. Free popcorn and snacks for purchase will be available. This Thrilling Third Thursdays event was rescheduled due to rain last week. Call the Willistown Parks and Recreation Department at 610-647-5300, ext. 224, to check on the status if rain is forecast again. More information .

Rushton Woods Preserve Opens to Public

  • Where/When: Rushton Woods Preserve, Delchester Road and Goshen Road, Newtown Square, May 28, 8:30am -  6:00pm.
  • Why Go: Willistown Conservation Trust is opening its newest 80-acre nature preserve dedicated to bird conservation and community farming. The park features two miles of public walking and riding trails and promises to bring unique educational opportunities to the community.

Junior Weekend at the Devon Horse Show

  • Where/When: Lancaster Pike and Dorset Road, Devon, May 26-28, 8:00am - 7:00pm.
  • Why Go: The Devon Horse Show is one of the largest outdoor multi-breed competitions in the United States.  In addition to horse riding, the event also featured plenty of family-friendly County Fair activities such tours and raffles.  On May 26th (Family Day), Children under 12 will be admitted free and there will be a free children’s raffle throughout the day.

  • Why Go: Every Sunday, children and toddlers enjoy a family-friendly hour of local musicians, singers, and story-tellers.  
  • Price: $5 per person, babies free.

Marshallton Memorial Day Celebration 

  • Where/When: Strasburg Road, Downingtown, May 29, 1:30pm.
  • Why Go: The parade will feature antique cars and decorated bikes and wagons for the whole family to enjoy. This annual event is held in memory of the men and women who serve our country, and an open reception at Martin’s Tavern will follow.
  • Price: Free.
