GVHS To Ease in Incoming Freshmen

A freshmen / new student orientation night will be held Thursday.

Incoming freshmen at Great Valley High School will get a chance to acquaint themselves with their new school before the August 26 start of the school year.

GVHS is holding a Freshman / New Student Orientation Night on Thursday, August 15, starting at 7 p.m.

In a letter to district parents, GVHS principal Michael J. Flick said the event was aimed at getting incoming students "acquainted with the high school and all it has to offer."

"The transition to high school is an exciting, yet somewhat stressful time for many students," he said in a release. "[Orientation night should] … help make the transfer easier for both [parents] and child."

The event will feature, among other things, a tour of the school and a club fair in which incoming students can review different extracurricular activities and groups offered through the school.
