Acme to Close in Exton

The grocery store will be closing in February.

Two Chester County Acme Markets, one in Exton and one in Westtown, will be closing their doors in February.

“Friday (Jan 10) we told the teams in Westtown and Exton that the stores would be closing due to expirations of the leases,” Angela Perez, Communications and Public Affairs Manager for Acme said. The closings are schedule for mid-February.

Perez said in a statement that all stores go through “an extensive quarterly review process, which includes a real estate review. At these two locations, the leases will expire and we elected not to renew them.”

Employees at the two stores, which employ a total of 120 people, will have the chance to keep their jobs with Acme, according to Perez.

“Associates will be offered the opportunity to transfer to open positions at nearby stores,” she said.
