Owner Joe Failla is planning a June re-opening. The Great Frame Up, next door, has already reopened its doors after heavy repairs.

When an ravaged on Jan. 16, owner Joe Failla . Standing in the restaurant Monday, May 21, he said the repairs have taken longer than he expected, but the end is near. He's hoping to re-open by June 15.

"Nothing is here that was here—it's all new, from the A/C to the ductwork to the plumbing," Failla said. "Just me. I'm old."

In addition to updated decor, Failla is looking into what permits would be necessary to feature live music once every week or two after he reopens. The catalog would probably include Sinatra, Elvis and Italian music. He's also looking into the possibility of getting a liquor license. Mediterannio is currently a BYOB.

The , next door, also required extensive repairs, far more than owner Jim Dibrino thought would be necessary at first.

"It was a monumental task to get rid of the odor," Dibrino said.

The wall closest to Mediterannio had to be taken down, and the carpet and all porous surfaces had to be replaced, Dibrino said.
