Big Route 202 Changes Begin This Weekend

Traffic patterns will shift starting Friday, Dec. 9.

Route 202 Traffic Pattern Change Starts This Weekend

STAGE 3 begins on Dec. 9 and extends through late 2012.

Two lanes of northbound U.S. Route 202 will be shifted to the southbound side.

Construction crews will work this weekend (Dec 9 – 11) to move two lanes of northbound Route 202 traffic over to the southbound side of the highway between the Route 402 and Chesterbrook Boulevard interchanges in East Whiteland and Tredyffrin townships.

Weekend construction on northbound Route 202 will start 8 pm Friday (Dec. 9) and last until 5 am Monday (Dec. 12). 

In addition to northbound lane closures, three northbound ramps will be temporarily closed to construct access lanes at the Route 29 Interchange.

The following traffic restrictions are scheduled to establish the new traffic pattern on Route 202:

Wednesday and Thursday (Dec. 7 – 8) from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Southbound left land will be closed between the Chesterbrook Boulevard and Route 401 interchanges

Friday (Dec. 9)  from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m  and Saturday (Dec. 10)

Northbound left lane will be closed between the Route 401 and Chesterbrook Boulevard interchanges.

Saturday (Dec. 10 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.)

Route 202’s northbound left lane will run on the southbound side of the highway

The Right lane will run on the northbound side between Rout 401 and Chesterbrook Boulevard.

Drivers must travel in the northbound right lane to access off ramps at the Route 29 and Route 252 interchanges. 

Saturday (Dec. 10) 8 pm to Sunday (Dec. 11) 10 am

The Route 202 North off-ramp to Route 29 North/Great Valley will be closed and detoured.

The posted detour is Route 401 East to Swedesford Road and left at Swedesford Road to Route 29.

Sunday (Dec. 11) from 20 am to 8 pm

The Route 202 North off-ramp to Route 29 South/Malvern will be closed and detoured.

The posted detour will take northbound Route 202 drivers to the Route 29 North/Great Valley exit, then right at Matthews Road to Route 29.

Sunday (Dec 11) 8 pm to 5 am Monday (Dec. 12)

Route 202 North will be reduced to one lane on the southbound side of the highway between the Route 401 and Chesterbrook Boulevard interchanges.

Crews will work during the weekend to set construction barriers, pave, paint traffic lines and eradicate lines.
