Excessive Heat Watch Issued for Friday, Saturday
Heat indexes will pass 100 this weekend.
Though the Malvern area is seeing a slight break in the heat this week, temperatures will rise again Friday and Saturday. The National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat watch effective Friday and Saturday.
The most extreme temperatures are expected Friday afternoon, when the mercury will reach 93 F and the heat index will enter triple digits.

The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity will combine to create a dangerous situation in which heat illnesses are possible. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
