Looking for some fun and inexpensive ideas for where to take the family over the next week? Here are a few ideas that promise to keep the kids interested and happy, and maybe learning a thing or two in the process.

  • Storytimes at the Library

    Where/When:

    Why Go:
    Reading is fundamental. On Thursday, March 17, there will be a storytime for 2-year-olds from 9:30-10:10 a.m.; 4- to 6-year olds from 10:15 to 10:50 a.m.; and 3- and 4-year-olds from 11-11:35 a.m. There will also be a storytime for babies on Monday, March 21, from 11-11:30 a.m. For more information, call 610-644-7259.

  • Free Admission to Brandywine River Museum

    Where/When: Brandywine River Museum in Chadds Ford, Sunday, March 20, 9:30-noon

    Why Go: Expose the kids to artists like Andrew Wyeth, whose Civil War paintings exhibition will end Sunday, and enjoy a light breakfast in the museum's restaurant. For more information, call 610-388-2700.

    Why Go: The school will host a talent show and other activities.

  • Batman: Mask of the Phantasm

    Where/When: Colonial Theatre in Phoenixville, Saturday, March 19, 2 p.m.

    Why Go: If you and your kids enjoy the animated "Batman" series, you'll dig this big-screen edition.
