Ramps at Routes 202/401 to Close Overnight Tuesday, Thursday

PennDOT will close the ramps to install drainage pipes.

As part of the $63.3 million dollar highway expansion project, Pennsylvania Department of Transportation will close northbound ramps at the Route 202/401 interchange on Tuesday and Thursday.

The ramps will be closed Tuesday and Thursday nights, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., as crews install drainage pipes.

Lane closures on northbound and southbound Route 202 might also occur between the routes 29 and 30 Monday through Thursday from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., as crews install of Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) components.

Overnight Ramp Closures at Route 202/401 Interchange in Chester County  
King of Prussia – The northbound ramps at the U.S. Route 202/Route 401 Interchange in East Whiteland Township, Chester County, will be closed Tuesday (April 2) and Thursday (April 4) from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for drainage pipe installations, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced today.
This operation is part of PennDOT’s $63.3 million project to expand Route 202 to six lanes between the Route 401 and Route 30 Interchanges to enhance travel and reduce congestion. The project also includes the improvement of the Route 202/Route 401 Interchange.
During the overnight ramp closures, motorists are advised to follow the posted detours. The posted detours are
Route 202 North off-ramp to Route 401: Northbound Route 202 motorists will exit at the U.S. Route 30/Frazer off-ramp and travel east on Route 30 (Lancaster Avenue) to the intersection of Route 401 and then turn left on Route 401. 
Route 401 on-ramp to Route 202 North: Follow Route 401 East to the intersection of Swedesford Road, then turn left on Swedesford Road, right on Route 29, left on Mathews Road, and left at the ramp to Route 202 North.  
In addition, lane closures may occur on northbound and southbound Route 202 between the Route 29 and Route 30 interchanges Monday through Thursday (April 1-4) from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for installation of Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) components.
