This work is part of PennDOT’s $105.4 million project to add a third travel lane in each direction on Route 202 from just south of the Route 252 Interchange in Tredyffrin Township to just north of the Route 401 Interchange in East Whiteland Township. Richard E. Pierson Construction Company, Inc. of Woodstown, N.J. is the general contractor on the project, which is financed with 80 percent federal and 20 percent state funds.

PennDOT is rebuilding and expanding 6.5 miles of Route 202 from just south of the Route 252 Interchange to the Route 30/Exton Bypass Interchange under two construction contracts. The second contract, which runs from just north of the Route 401 Interchange to the Route 30/Exton Bypass Interchange, is in final engineering design. Construction is scheduled to start in early 2013 and finish in late 2015.
