Route 202 Southbound Roadwork Resumes Sunday

One lane will close at night in East Whiteland and Tredyffrin township.

PennDOT will close one lane of southbound Route 202 for nighttime construction beginning Sunday, June 26, through Thursday, June 30. The right lane between the Chesterbrook and Route 401 interchanges will close each night from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., as crews work on the shoulder and install concrete barriers.

The shoulder is being rebuilt because it will serve as a travel lane during later stages of the highway expansion process.

This work is part of PennDOT’s $105.4 million project to add a third travel lane in each direction along four miles of Route 202 from just south of the Route 252 Interchange in Tredyffrin Township to just north of the Route 401 Interchange in East Whiteland Township.

... PennDOT is rebuilding and expanding 6.5 miles of Route 202 from just south of the Route 252 Interchange to the Route 30/Exton Bypass Interchange under two construction contracts. The second contract, which runs from just north of the Route 401 Interchange to the Route 30/Exton Bypass Interchange, is in final engineering design. Construction is scheduled to start in early 2013 and finish in late 2015.
