PECO: Some Customers May Not Regain Power Until Friday

Some customers might be without electricity until Friday, according to the utility company's recorded message.

If your power is still out, calling PECO might not yield the results you've been hoping for. Some customers may not be back on the grid until Friday.

Status updates are available by calling PECO at 800-841-4141 and keying in your account number, or the phone number linked to your account.

However, as of Wednesday night, all calls were prefaced with this message from PECO's automated voice service.

"A severe winter storm with accumulating ice moved through the region overnight, damaging our system and causing power outages. All of PECO's employees and resources are focused on restoring your power as safely and quickly as possible.

We will continue to work around the clock until service is restored to all customers. We expect to have the majority of customers restored by Thursday evening.
