Southbound 202 Down to One Lane Tuesday

The lane restrictions will occur from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., from Chesterbrook to Route 29.

Crews will be at work on Route 202 southbound starting just after rush hour Tuesday morning, resulting in only one open lane of traffic in that direction.

From PennDOT:

Southbound Route 202 will be restricted to one lane tomorrow (Aug. 30) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. between the Chesterbrook and Route 29 interchanges in Tredyffrin and East Whiteland townships, Chester County, for pavement repairs, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced today.

Motorists are advised to use an alternate route or leave additional time to travel south on Route 202 during this daytime operation.

Lane closures are nothing new on Route 202 these days, as PennDOT embarks on a nine-figure project to add a third lane of travel in each direction between routes 252 and 401. The lane restrictions and work usually occur during off-peak hours, in the middle of the night. Tuesday's daytime work is an exception that could hamper commuters.
