Stormy Sunday Leads to Hot, Humid Holiday

Be prepared for thunderstorms around town during Sunday, some of which could provide locally heavy rainfall and gusty winds.

Hope you've been enjoying the great weather of the last week or so! Unfortunately, the odds that we stay dry for Sunday aren't the greatest as a weak cool front drops into the region today and provides us a threat for thunderstorms through the day. Best chances for thunder are in the afternoon but even the early morning hours could feature a rumble or two of storms from activity up in the Great Lakes.

The afternoon thunderstorm activity could provide some locally heavy rainfall and gusty winds in the strongest of storms. Storm development should be scattered and it's possible a couple of rounds of thunder move through the "luckiest" of locales on Sunday. A more thorough update will be provided on Phillyweather.net during the morning hours on Sunday.

Expect high temperatures in the upper 80s locally, assuming we get some sunshine during the day. The front will fizzle as it crosses the region, leaving us less humid but continuing the very warm weather for the 4th of July.
