Turnpike Interchange Closes Sunday Morning

Access to the ramps will be shut off at 12:01 a.m. as maintenance work is done to tolling equipment.

Pa. Turnpike to Close Route 29 Interchange (Exit 320) at 12:01 a.m. Sunday 

Tolling-equipment maintenance requires interchange to be closed for nine hours.

The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission advises motorists using Interstate 76 between Downingtown (Exit #312) and Valley Forge (Exit #326) that the Route 29 Interchange (#320, E-ZPass only) will be closed to eastbound and westbound traffic from 12:01 a.m. – 9 a.m. Sunday, March 3.

Motorists can exit the Turnpike westbound at the Downingtown exit #312 and eastbound at the Valley Forge exit #326 to access State Routes 29, Routes 202 and 401 and local roadways. Additionally, the entrance to the Turnpike from Route 29 (Morehall Road) and Atwater Drive will be closed.

The overnight closure will allow crews to complete important toll-collection equipment maintenance and perform work on an overhead gantry. Digital message boards will be activated on the mainline (I-76) and Route 29 to alert motorists that there will be noTurnpike access.

Pennsylvania State Police and Turnpike maintenance personnel will assist with the closure until the work is completed and the interchange is reopened by 9 a.m. Sunday. All work is weather sensitive and subject to change.

Travel advisories will be posted at www.paturnpike.com and Highway Advisory Radio (1640 AM) will be activated to provide travel updates. In case of an accident, breakdown or other emergency, motorists can utilize the yellow call boxes on the shoulder or dial *11 to receive aid. Be prepared to give your milepost location and direction of travel.
