Two Lanes of 202 To Close Wednesday Night While PennDOT Installs Sensors

Two southbound lanes of Route 202 in Tredyffrin Township will close Wednesday as vehicle counters are installed.

Two lanes of Route 202 will close Wednesday night at 9 p.m. as crews install vehicle-counting sensors under the roadway, according to a PennDOT press release.

The closures will take place on the stretch of highway between routes 422 and 252 in Tredyffrin Township. The lanes are expected to be reopen by 5 a.m. Thursday, although inclimate weather could require a second night of work Thursday.

Crews will be installing and repairing traffic counters. According to PennDOT:

The devices are sensors which are installed below the road surface and automatically count the number of vehicles that travel through a given location each day.

Motorists are advised to be alert and to expect possible slowdowns when driving near the work crews.  The operation is dependent on the weather.
