Video: Okra Grows at Rushton Farm

The veggie is grown organically and sold each Saturday in Willistown.

Okra may be a southern vegetable, but its popularity is increasing in the northeast. It has a somewhat slimy texture that turns some people off, but it can be tasty in soups and fried.

Okra ripens in late July through October and will be available Saturdays at in Willistown.

Check out the attached video to learn a bit about the vegetable from Willistown Conservation Trust farmer Fred de Long.
